Guangna expands its acrylic range further with a set of 488 markers, the widest palette the brand has ever released — above the 408, previously the top of the range.
What 488 colours actually change
Beyond a certain number of shades, what you gain is no longer variety but finesse. Neighbouring colours become so close that a gradient builds up in three or four imperceptible steps, where a set of 100 forces visible jumps. On a portrait, a sky or foliage, that's exactly what separates a flat fill from real texture. It's the only real argument for a palette this size — and it only applies to an established practice.
A professional brush tip
The soft synthetic fibre tip draws from 1 to 5 mm depending on pressure and angle. It responds like a paintbrush on broad strokes and springs back into shape after heavy use without fraying — a decisive factor when the same marker is used hundreds of times.
Opaque acrylic ink, waterproof once dry
Highly pigmented, it covers dark backgrounds without looking washed out, layers without the lower coats coming through, and dries to an even matte finish. Once dry, it resists water, stains and light.
Which surfaces?
Canvas, paper and card, wood and MDF, stone and pebbles, decorative textiles, glass, ceramics, plastic, metal. A finishing varnish is recommended on smooth surfaces that will be handled or washed.
408 or 488: which should I choose?
The 408 set is already an almost complete collection and is enough for the vast majority of projects. The 488 is for mature collections: those who already own a large palette and are looking for the last in-between shades. If you're unsure, the question isn't the number of colours but how often you get stuck on a missing shade.
Plan your storage
With 488 markers, a single organiser is no longer enough: the 360 to 450-slot wooden organiser reaches its limit and a second unit becomes necessary. You might as well add it to the same order to receive everything together. The Guangna colour chart is essential here rather than optional: searching by eye among 488 caps just isn't an option.
Shipping
Orders are prepared and shipped within 1 to 3 business days after payment is confirmed. Delivery within mainland France in 2 to 4 business days (tracked Colissimo or pickup point), and throughout the European Union. Pickup-point delivery is free on orders from €69. You'll receive an email with your tracking number as soon as your order ships.
Returns & refunds
You have 14 days after delivery to change your mind, in line with your right of withdrawal. Items must be unused and in their original packaging. Email us at contact@colobloom.fr to arrange the return: once we receive it, you'll be refunded within 14 days at most, using the same payment method.
