Why choose an acrylic marker?

Unlike classic ink-based felt-tips, an acrylic marker lays down a real layer of opaque paint that grips smooth and rough surfaces alike. The colour stays bright even on black, dries quickly and becomes water-resistant once applied. It's the ideal tool for lettering, bullet journaling, pebble painting or customising everyday objects.

Which tip size should I choose?

Fine tips (around 1 to 3 mm) are for details, outlines and neat writing. Medium tips suit colouring and everyday lines. Broad tips fill large areas in a few strokes. At ColoBloom, the Guangna and Languo sets offer a wide palette of numbered colours, easy to find again with our dedicated colour charts.

Our tips for getting started

Before first use, shake the marker well with the cap on to mix the paint. Work in thin layers and let each coat dry for a clean, smudge-free finish. Always recap your markers and ideally store them horizontally to protect the tip and extend their life.

Frequently asked questions — Acrylic markers

Are acrylic markers permanent?
Once dry, they resist water and light rubbing on most surfaces. For items that are handled often or kept outdoors, a clear protective varnish is recommended.
Which surfaces can I use them on?
Thick paper, canvas, wood, glass, ceramics, pebbles, metal, plastic and even some fabrics. On very smooth surfaces, a light degreasing improves adhesion.
Are they suitable for beginners?
Yes, they're easy to use and need no extra equipment. Our colour charts help you find every colour by its number so you can create with confidence.
How do I look after my markers?
Cap them properly after each use and store them horizontally. If a nib starts to dry out, dipping it in a little lukewarm water for a few seconds can revive it.
