Ohuhu – Honolulu B – 344-colour collection
Description
Ohuhu Honolulu B — the complete 344-colour collection, no duplicates
Completing an Ohuhu Honolulu B palette always runs into the same problem: the themed boxes overlap. Buying the grey pack and the pastel pack for three missing shades means paying for a hundred or so markers you already own.
This collection solves exactly that. It brings together 359 markers covering the 344 unique colours of the Honolulu B range — the entire spectrum — by combining three carefully chosen elements rather than whole boxes. It's a ColoBloom bundle: it doesn't exist as such in the Ohuhu catalogue.
How we get to 344 colours
| Element | Markers | Unique colours added |
|---|---|---|
| 320-colour set | 320 | 320 |
| 36 skin tone set | 36 | +21 (15 already in the 320) |
| 3 individual markers | 3 | +3 (YR05, YR56, E111) |
| Total | 359 markers | 344 unique colours |
Why 359 markers for 344 colours
Because 15 flesh tones from the skin tone set are already in the 320 set. That's not a loss, and it's actually why we kept the set whole rather than splitting it up: these 15 shades are the most-used skin tones in the entire range, the first to run out as soon as you draw characters. You get a built-in head start on exactly the markers you would have rebought first.
The three markers that are always missing
These three shades can't be found in the 320 set or the skin tone set. They only exist in two themed boxes:
- YR05 Cotton Pearl (former code E020) — exclusive to the pastel boxes
- YR56 Light Apricot Pink (former code R090) — exclusive to the pastel boxes
- E111 Pewter Green (former code YG100) — exclusive to the 36-grey box
To get them any other way, you'd have to buy the whole pastel box and the whole grey box, over eighty markers for three genuinely new shades. Buying them individually is the only sensible way to complete the palette — and that's where this bundle makes its real saving.
The most efficient combination possible — and it's not just us saying so
The Ohuhu community has spent years documenting which combinations of boxes give the most shades with the fewest duplicates. The conclusion always comes back to the same base: the 320 set, completed by the 36 skin tone set, then the three individual markers that are otherwise out of reach. That's exactly this bundle. It isn't a commercial choice but the most efficient calculation you can make across the Honolulu range.
Why the complete palette changes the way you colour
With alcohol ink, the quality of a gradient depends on the gap between two neighbouring shades. The closer the colours, the more invisible the blend. With 344 references, you work with complete families: five successive blues for a sky, four skin tones to model a face, three greens for the depth of foliage. That's something no partial set allows, whatever its number of colours.
The dual brush & fine tip
The flexible brush tip varies its width with pressure: generous fills, gradients, filling large areas. The fine tip handles crisp outlines, details and lettering. One marker replaces two tools, and you never switch instruments to change scale. It's the signature of the B series, more accessible than the brush & chisel version aimed at experienced illustrators.
Refillable alcohol ink
This is the most underrated argument for the Ohuhu range: Honolulu B markers are refillable, and the brush nibs are replaceable. An empty marker isn't thrown away, it's refilled. With a collection this size, that completely changes the maths: you buy the palette once, then maintain the shades you actually use.
Getting gradients right
Work from lightest to darkest, on ink that's still wet, keeping two to three numbers between shades. The colourless blenders provided soften edges and rescue a transition that's too harsh. With a complete palette, you always have the in-between shade you need — which is precisely what makes blending easy rather than technical.
Which paper should I use?
Smooth paper of at least 120 gsm, ideally marker paper, limits bleed-through and bleeding. The anti-bleed sheets provided slip under the page if your sketchbook is thin.
What the collection contains
The 359 dual-tip markers (344 unique colours), the colourless blenders, the original carrying cases, the swatch cards, the manuals and the anti-bleed sheets. The caps are colour-coded and show each shade's number and name. Ink AP-certified and compliant with ASTM D-4236.
Organising a collection this size
With 359 markers, storage is no longer a luxury. The 360 to 450-slot wooden organiser holds the entire collection horizontally, visible at a glance — it's the natural companion to this set. The Ohuhu colour chart comes in a 344 version and lists every shade by its official code. For luminous highlights and white dots a marker can't do, Languo 0.6 mm gel pens are illustrators' favourite companion.
Who is this collection for?
For colourists and illustrators who'd rather get the whole palette in one go than build it up set by set. If you're just starting out, the 320 set on its own remains the best starting point.
